Skis Our rental shop specializes in providing a wide selection of powder skis that will carry you through a variety of snow conditions. You are welcome to reserve equipment for your trip in advance! Please browse through the descriptions below, or (contact our staff) for advice about which skis would be best for you. Our guides and staff are continually researching and testing the latest ski technology in order to provide the best equipment to you. New skis and brands are under ongoing consideration, so be sure to ask our staff what new products we may have added. Depending on availability, you will be able to exchange your skis for other lengths and models with no additional charge during your trip. Atomic Heli-Daddy (SC-126mm-99mm-117mm) Our most popular rental ski, the Heli-Daddys are fat, fat, fat. If you like easy turns and cruising effortlessly through the deep powder, these skis are for you! These are great all-round skis that float well in deep powder and provide a little stiffer ski. Word to the wise-if you’re unsure which length to choose, go shorter. Available lengths: 150cm, 160cm, 170cm, 180cm. Atomic Snoop Daddy (SC 127 mm-88 mm-113mm) top Freeride or all-mountain? The new lightweight Snoop Daddy couldn’t care less. With its 88 mm sidecut it does not go under in deep snow and doesn’t get left behind so easily even in fast turns. Available lengths: 163cm, 174cm, 185cm K2 Apache Outlaw (SC 124mm 88mm 111mm) top Very popular with our American clients, the K2 Outlaws passed the test with our guides last season and are now part of our rental fleet. These skis will provide a superior ride through all snow conditions. Available lengths: 167cm, 174cm, 181cm. K2 Coomba (SC 135mm – 102 mm– 121mm) top These fat boys love the deep, deep powder and so will you. Co-created by Doug Coombs and K2, the Coomba is the next generation powder ski built for adventure. Named in Doug's honor, the Coomba is designed for anyone from serious alpinists to aspiring backcountry/heli skiers. The balanced flex pattern and 102mm waist width offers excellent floatation and easy handling in tough conditions. Available lengths: 174cm, 183cm, 185cm Movement Thunder (SC 122mm-89mm-111mm) top These Swiss built skis are big mountain sticks designed for big mountain powder. On those days that you need a snorkel to get through a run, the Thunder will give you a serious high performance ride. Available lengths: 177cm, 187 cm Salomon Pocket Rockets/Salomon Guns (SC-122mm, 90mm, 115mm) top Second in popularity with STHS guests, these skis have a small side cut and are light and responsive. Ideal across a wide range of conditions, the Guns/PR have twin tips and a degree of flexibility that make for a fun skiing experience. Available lengths: 165cm, 175cm, 185cm. Movement Spark (SC 121mm-82mm-110mm) top Our superlative all-’rounder! This great ski is consistently one of the favourites in our line. It has a medium flex which makes it a forgiving ski that flatters the skier in all snow conditions and terrain. However, if the expert wants to really start charging, the Spark will respond without compromise. It is the definition of an advanced/experts all-around ski. Available lengths: 173cm, 183cm. Movement Goliath (SC 134mm – 99mm -118mm ) top A ski meant for powder and open terrain where an expert can really open it up. One of its celebrated qualities is that it skis much easier and shorter than the dimensions would suggest. This is due to the core materials; light but superbly balanced with fantastic dampening qualities, facilitating easier release in tighter turns. Available lengths: 184 cm. Movement Black Rose-Women’s (SC 120mm-87mm-109mm) top For women who regularly outski their male counterparts, we designed a very light ski with the same construction features used in the development of the Thunder. It is the ideal ski for expert women skiers who want a powerful ski which skis powder and crud as easily as it carves compact and hard snow. This is THE women’s performance freeride ski. Available lengths: 165cm, 175cm. K2 Phat Luv-Women’s (SC 135mm-102mm-121mm) top Specially designed by women for women, the Phat Luvs are the ultimate deep powder ski. Light and agile, this ski floats effortlessly through untracked snow. Though designed primarily for powder; the blend of "enough" sidecut and a new tip shape, this ski can also handle any condition on the mountain. Available lengths: 163 cm, 173 cm. Snowboards Our rental shop currently offers the fabulous, Canadian-made Prior powder snowboards for rent. Have you ever tried a board designed to float through the powder? Well, try your hand at these beauties: Prior Khyber The Khyber is a performance powderboard, with improved trim, float and maneuverability in the powder compared with your standard freeride board. This board works well for riders of all abilities and is very nimble in the trees. Available lengths: 160cm, 165cm top Prior Pow-Stick This swallowtail is definitely not for the birds! If you plan on a day of epic glacier action in the wide open, the Pow-Stick will deliver.
